Development Assistant
Summary
This position is the primary administrative support to the Director of Development and an expanding Development Department.
Essential duties & responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage and coordinate Raiser’s Edge fundraising database system including gift recording and data entry, gift acknowledgement and report production
- Maintain the Development Department calendar, filing and other systems
- Draft and edit correspondence, as directed
- Field and fulfill requests from Trustees, donors, Foundation staff members and the general public
- Manage mailings and event RSVPs
- Assist in the creation and manage the distribution of all collateral materials
- Prepare and update orientation materials for new Development Committee Members
- Schedule and set up all Development Committee and other fundraising meetings
- Record meeting minutes, prepare and distribute electronic and paper copies of minutes and other meeting documents, and create a minutes binder for committee meetings
- Fill in for Executive Assistant with the scheduling and/or setup of full Board meetings
- Assist Development Director with meeting preparation including the creation of presentations in PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
- Assist with donor and Trustee stewardship activities
- Assist with compilation of Annual Report & Honor Roll of Donors
- Assist with Fort Mason sponsored event activities, as directed
- Other duties as assigned

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
This position has no significant physical demands. Some evening and weekend work required.
Qualifications

- Prior experience in a nonprofit environment preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office and other applications required
- Familiarity with donor databases or other CRMs helpful
- Organized, thorough, enthusiastic with energetic work habits

- Ability to multitask in a busy office environment essential
- Contribute to team success
- Well developed verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with staff colleagues, board members, donors and members of the public
Compensation
This is a full-time nonexempt position. A competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k) benefits, is offered
