Music Licensing 101 (w/Howie Cockrill) What is a license? How and where can an artist license his or her music? How does digital distribution affect music licensing? This workshop addresses the basics of copyright law and licensing, as well as some particulars for licensing downloads and streams. 9/10

Whether you are a filmmaker, a dance company, or an arts group, many grants are only available to public charities. So how do you obtain public charity status? What are the disadvantages? Promotes the study & practice of calligraphy to encourage individual excellence & to foster a wider appreciation & deeper understanding of calligraphy, its history & applications. The society sponsors classes, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, a spring retreat & a holiday party. Classes at FMC are open to the public.

Celebrating more than 25 years of creativity. Enjoy experience-based learning in art classes led by Reggio-trained teachers. For ages 27 months to 10 years. Younger children explore through a wide range of media. Classes on special topics for older kids include mixed media, clay, printmaking & others. Ongoing enrollment. Winter session starts 1/7. Based on the 20-year-old NYC program, the SF writing workshops follow the model that has helped thousands of writers reach their potential. Each week students read excerpts from classic & contemporary literature & work on exercises to master literary techniques. Classes meet once a week for 10 weeks.
