DECEMBER
2004
Cowell Theater
Politics, patriotism, pandering, and panic all weapons
Will Durst deploys in his comedy offensive. On the final night
of 2004, Durst and his merry band of misanthropes mock the
events of the exiting year in two shows at the Cowell Theater.
From Martha Stewarts trial to mad cow disease, 2004
is rich with material to inspire sarcastic laughter. The Big
Fat Year-End Kiss-Off Comedy Show rolls into the Cowell
after travelling through a number of Northern California towns,
leaving dark chuckles in its wake.
Even though his comedy calendar is stuffed with gigs across
the US, Durst has been manic in maintaining his web column,
Durst Case Scenario, throughout 2004. Reviewing the
rants in this densely packed blog gives a preview of possible
skits for the New Years Eve extravaganza.
In the Durst world view, elections, of course, always get
a lot of attention. However, the Super Bowl and the Academy
Awards are not immune to Durstian barbs. Hurricanes in Florida
versus California quakes? Durst dishes out the irony for natural
disasters too.
Dursts Kiss-Off Comedy Show is a malignant medley
of parody, stand-up routines, improvisation, and loosely written
sketches. Special guests, including wife Debi, join Durst
to taunt and scoff at unfortunate targets prominent
people and events parading through the news stories of 2004.
Dursts razor wit, made famous via NPR, CNN, HBO, and
Comedy Central, guarantees an evening of edgy humor.
Send 2004 packing in style with Will Dursts Big Fat
Year-End Kiss-Off Comedy Show. See December
