JANUARY
2005
Festival Pavilion
There may be no better way for art lovers to celebrate the
new year than to be surrounded by the great art of the 20th
and 21st centuries. The timing couldnt be better.
The always grand San Francisco Art Exposition returns to
Fort Mason Centers spacious Festival Pavilion in January.
With more than 100 galleries and 2,000 artists, an eclectic
collection of art, including painting, drawing, video, photography,
printmaking, sculpture and others is available to private
collectors, museum curators, corporate consultants, and other
art lovers.
The exhibit encompasses work from both emerging, cutting-edge
artists and such modern masters as Andy Warhol, Georgia OKeefe,
David Hockney, Edward Weston, Richard Avedon, and Willem de
Kooning. Doors open to the public on Friday, January 14.
The Opening Night Preview Benefit, on Thursday, January 13,
is hosted by and is a benefit for the San Francisco Art Institute.
The evening gala provides guests with the first opportunity
to view the extraordinary collections in an environment of
warmth, elegance, and great fun.
