JANUARY
2005
Herbst Pavilion
The great wine countries France, Italy, Germany, Spain,
and, well, California are finding that others are vying
for leadership. Chilean wines are among those gaining admiration
and market share in the US. However, the third largest importer
of wine to this country, after Italy and France, is not Germany
or Spain. Its Australia.
On Thursday, January 20, you can find out why. The Australia
Day Harvest Festival lands in San Francisco for a one-day
wine tasting event at the Herbst Pavilion. Open to the trade
in the afternoon and to the public that evening, the tasting,
brought to the US by the Australian Wine Bureau, offers more
than 300 Aussie wines to sample.
