Landmark Building A & Gatehouse

The holidays start early at Fort Mason Center with many shopping opportunities throughout the month of November. Savvy gift buyers can score great deals on unique, high-quality items such as jewelry, furnishings, crystals, and designer fashions.

Hi Ho Silver San Francisco Pendants & Earrings By: Guillermo ArreguiA Fort Mason Center (FMC) favorite, Hi Ho Silver San Francisco, is expanding into more great gifts for the 2008 season. In addition to beautiful sterling silver jewelry from Mexico, Hi Ho Silver also offers striking stainless steel vases by local artist Michael Szabo, Agelio Batle’s graphite sculptures, hand-woven Cambodian silk scarves, and a stunning collection of Mexican rebosos.

The free silver jewelry sales take place in the Building A Conference Center November 7–9 and 21–23, Friday through Sunday. Hi Ho Silver SF moves to the Gatehouse for Saturday and Sunday, November 29 and 30, 2008. Hours are 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Fridays, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. on Sundays. Donated from the collections of Society friends and members, the sale includes a rich and diverse collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, textiles, ethnic clothing, jewelry, baskets, furnishings, and decorative objects galore.

The Society’s souk sale benefits programs at the Asian Art Museum. The sale is free and open in the Gatehouse on Saturday, November 8 from noon–5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 9, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. For more information, see www.societyforasianart.org.

The Fabulous Fashionista Sample Sale returns to San Francisco from Los Angeles, bringing designer samples, closeouts, and bargains to the Conference Center in Building A on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Top name labels such as BCBG and Ella Moss are available, as well as handbags, thousands of dresses, tops, and cashmere creations. Many items are discounted 50 to 70 percent from the original prices and there is no admission fee to the sale.

It just wouldn’t be the holidays without the San Francisco Crystal Fair. This venerable FMC event brings a glittering assortment of crystals, minerals, jewelry, and metaphysical healing tools to the Building A Conference Center on Saturday and Sunday, November 29 and 30, 2008. The fair runs from 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

More than 40 exhibitors dazzle shoppers with brilliant gemstones and esoteric wisdom from many cultures. Massage and healing specialists are also on hand to offer soothing touch and aura readings.
