The Long Now Foundation

Resident Since 02006

The Long Now Foundation was established in 01996 to foster long-term thinking and responsibility in the framework of the next 10,000 years. Through the development of the 10,000-year clock and library projects, such as the Rosetta Project, the Long Now Foundation hopes to provide a counterpoint to today’s “faster/cheaper” mindset and promote “slower/better” thinking. The Long Now Foundation presents seminars, lectures and science and art-based projects to encourage people to think beyond their lifetimes. In 2014, The Interval, a bar-café-museum opened within the Long Now Foundation.
