BATS Improv’s acclaimed School of Improv offers numerous classes for adults at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Adult classes cover many aspects of improv: games, exercises, scene work, character development, spontaneity, and more.

Adult classes range from three-hour introductory workshops to a complete series of Foundation 1, 2, and 3 classes; as well as more advanced Foundation Specialty, Performance Series, Studio Scene Work, and Studio Specialty classes.

Please Note: Classes listed below reflect those held at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture; BATS Improv offers more classes at other locations. There are no classes on Sunday, October 7, 2018 or during the Thanksgiving holiday, November 22-24, 2018.

Foundation 12:30 p.m.to 5:30 p.m classesSunday, September 16-October 28 or Saturday, October 13-November 17; 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. classes: Wednesday, September 19-October 24 or Thursday, October 11-November 15,  $299

Foundation 2. Thursday, October 4-November 8, 7:00-10:00 p.m., or Saturday, October 27-December 8, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., $299 (prerequisite: Foundation 1)

Foundation 3. Wednesday, October 3-November 7; $299 (prerequisite: Foundation 2)

Foundation Specialty — “The Secret Relationship Between Stand Up Comedy and Improv” Monday, September 17-October 27, 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. $279

Intro To Improv. 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Classes: Thursday, October 4 and Tuesday, October 16, $45

Studio Scene Work. “Four-Week Studio Scene Work,” Tuesday, October 23-November 13, 7:00-10:00 p.m., $180 (prerequisite: Foundation 3)
