BATS Improv’s acclaimed School of Improv offers numerous classes for adults at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Adult classes cover many aspects of improv: games, exercises, scene work, character development, spontaneity, and more.

Adult classes range from three-hour introductory workshops to a complete series of Foundation 12, and 3 classes; as well as more advanced Performance Series and Studio Scene Work classes.

Please Note: Classes listed below reflect those held at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture; BATS Improv offers more classes at other locations. There are no classes during the Thanksgiving holiday, November 28-30, 2019.

Foundation 1. 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. classes: Saturday, November 9-December 21; or Sunday, December 8, 2019 to January 19, 2020;  or three-day intensive, December 13-15, 2019, Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. $269-$299

Foundation 2. Three-day intensive, November 15-17, 2019, Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; or Sunday, December 8, 2019 to January 20 2020, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. $269-$299 (prerequisite: Foundation 1)

Foundation 3. Sunday, November 10, 2019 to December 22, 2019, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; $299 (prerequisite: Foundation 2)

Intro To Improv. Wednesday, November 13, 2019, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; “Intro To Improv For Baby Boomers,” Sunday, November 24, 2019, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 7, 2019, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 7:00 p.m.to 10:00 p.m. $45

Studio Scene Work. “Four-Week Studio Scene Work,” Tuesday, November 5-26, 2019, 7:00-10:00 p.m., $180 (prerequisite: Foundation 3)

Performance Specialty. “Let’s Get Physical,” Wednesday, December 4-18, 2019, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. $150 (Prerequisite: One year of improv experience.)
