Bernadette Cay: Something More

Presented By

SFMOMA Artists Gallery

Through Feb 25th

SFMOMA Artists Gallery welcomes artist and author Bernadette Cay to exhibit scaled-up pieces of artwork featured in her book, Something More: A Working Professional’s Search For Creativity, Purpose, and Peace, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. While working as a technology professional at Google and other companies, Cay embarked on an introspective journey of self-discovery in order to express her creative and analytical sides.

Cay began creating a drawing a day for more than 70 days on nights, weekends, and early in the morning while working full time. She discovered that her new collection of personal artwork resonated with her innermost feelings and also inspired other viewers. The drawing project evolved into a projection mapping installation. Both artistic endeavors have sparked a creative renaissance for Cay, resulting in interdisciplinary experiments and approaches combining Cay’s interests in philosophy, yoga, science, engineering, and gender and identity studies.

The opening reception and book signing event takes place on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Please RSVP at ArtistsGallery@SFMOMA.org.)
