Beryl Landau Exhibit

SFMOMA Artists Gallery

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture Main Office

Every Weekday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The SFMOMA Artists Gallery presents an exhibit of paintings by local artist Beryl Landau in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture’s office in Building C, Suite 260. Landau creates “symbolic landscapes” that evoke feelings and moods and gets inspiration from California scenes as well as locales explored while traveling.

Landau studied at the San Francisco Art Institute with Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bischoff, and Joan Brown. Her canvases display clear, layered colors laid down in subtle gradations as well as high-contrast profiles. She is especially adept at compelling cityscapes with highrise buildings, traffic, and examples of busy urban life. However, she also portrays tranquil marine environments, beautiful flowers, and dramatic mountain scenery.
