Learn how to play a new instrument or improve existing musical skills with Blue Bear School of Music Online at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Blue Bear’s diverse program includes group classesadult band workshops (on hold until summer), youth and teen private music lessons, and Little Bears toddler music classes.

Sample what Blue Bear has to offer with Short Seminars, held Monday through Thursday, April 6-9, 2020. These two-hour seminars cover topics such as guitar, songwriting, piano, and more for a mere $25 per seminar.

Online private lessons are available for many instruments and musical styles. Fees are $75 per hour for most instruments; $80 per hour for voice or saxophone. Four hours cost $290 and 10 hours are $650 ($310 for four hours and $700 for 10 hours in voice and sax). Reduced rates are available for half-hour and shared-hour lessons.

The 11-week online group classes begin April 13, 2020 and run through June 29, 2020. Online group sessions feature electric, acoustic, rhythm, bass, and lead guitar with classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced students. Other online group classes cover vocals, banjo, DJing, songwriting, and more. Tuition for 11 weeks is $330 to $470.

Little Bears online classes for ages four months to five years old begin Monday, April 6, 2020 and run through Monday, July 6, 2020. The 45-minute classes take place in the mornings, Monday through Friday, and cost $275 to $300 ($25 per class for drop-ins).

Blue Bear has put the 10-week Adult Band Workshops on hold until band members can get together in person to play again, hopefully as the summer session starts on Monday, July 6, 2020. When they begin again the workshops will be available in basic and intermediate levels for rock and blues, acoustic rock, funk, jazz, modern rock, and more. Band workshops cost $495 and culminate with a live performance by band members at a local club.
