Nov 9th @ 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Discover the inspiring story of University of Colorado star Samoan quarterback Sal Aunese at a Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) benefit program at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Livin’ Large Productions LLC’s award-winning documentary, Born To Lead: The Sal Aunese Story, screens at a special event to raise funds for YLI. The film is a rousing story of courage, friendship, and living life despite the most brutal obstacles.

The film captures the exemplary life of Sal Aunese, a gifted athlete who became one of his team’s most valuable players and valiantly battled stomach cancer until his passing in 1989. His team dedicated their season to him after his death. The film includes reflections from Aunese’s family, friends, and teammates, as well as rarely seen archival footage.

The VIP ticket grants access to a special wine and appetizer reception at 6:00 p.m. with Born To Lead’s director and writer Lara Slife along with football stars J.J. Flanagan, Jeff Campbell, Tim James, Okland Salavéa, and San Francisco 49ers coach T.C. McCartney. The film screens at 7:00 p.m., followed by a panel discussion, and a dessert and champagne reception at 9:20 p.m.
