Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture resident organization California Lawyers For The Arts (CLA) has shifted to online seminars during the COVID-19 crisis and has compiled an extensive digital resource guide for the arts community to support them during this public health emergency.

Trademark Law For Artists & Attorneys” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mark Leonard, General Counsel for Jelly Belly Candy Company, leads this valuable session for creative professionals and arts attonreys.

The trademark seminar costs between $5 and $20 on a sliding scale. Cover the cost of another participant with the $30 Pay-It-Forward fee. This workshop is eligible for 1.5 hours of Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit ($25). If registering for the credit, notify ReneeReizman@CALawyersForTheArts.org.

CLA presents its second annual symposium, “Intersections: Art & Law At The Border,” as a series of six weekly virtual webinars on Thursdays, June 25, 2020 through July 30, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The seminars focus on themes about “Intersections: Art & Lawmaking In An Ever-Changing Border Ecology” through the following topics:

  • Thursday, June 25, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Land & Memory Film Panel Series”
  • Thursday, July 2, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Employment Law Clinic & Workshop”
  • Thursday, July 9, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Praxis In The Borderlands: Humanitarian Aid, Mobilization & Migration”
  • Thursday, July 16, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Beyond Land: Critical Perspectives on Transnational Migration”
  • Thursday, July 23, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Tribal Law: The Question Of Art & Ownership On Native Land”
  • Thursday, July 30, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Cross Border Migrations: Reclaiming Narratives & Identities”
