Embark Gallery and the Coal + Ice documentary exhibition and climate festival at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture present “Taking Temperature: 10 Local Artists Respond To Environmental & Political Complexities Of The Climate Change Crisis,” an exhibit exploring the consequences of climate change.

The exhibit is curated by Coal + Ice curator and photographer Susan Meiselas and independent curator Jillian Schultz. Exhibit themes focus on living in the U.S. when leadership denies climate change, extreme weather and fire events, apocalyptic scenes real and imagined, waste created by consumer society, and environmental activism.

Participating artists are: Noah Greene (University of California, UC–Davis), Amber Eve Imrie (Stanford University), Darcy Padilla (UC–Davis), Alana Rios (San Jose State University), Stephanie Sherriff (Stanford), HyeYoon Song (California College of the Arts), Mika Sperling (San Francisco Art Institute, SFAI), Tashi Wangdhu (Mills College), and Eve Werner (SFAI).

The opening reception takes place on Friday, September 7, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
