The Leonardo da Vinci Society and Museo Italo Americano invite families and children of all ages to “Festa Della Befana,” a traditional Italian epiphany festival starring a witch, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Enjoy refreshments, performances, contests, and games as La Befana (an elderly woman, or witch) from Italian folklore brings gifts to children in honor of La Festa dell’Epifania.

Bestselling children’s author Michelle Longega Wilson entertains the crowd by telling La Befana stories, and talking about the history and magic of this popular character. Children are invited to read or recite a La Befana poem in English or Italian during a contest to win her magical hat. All attending children receive a Befana stocking full of goodies.
