Popular artist and author Tesia Blackburn leads an inspiring acrylic painting workshop with FLAX art + design Store at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. The “Golden Acrylics: Kandinsky Abstracts” $89 workshop on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. is a four-hour, hands-on class that explores the possibilities of acrylics with Golden Artist Colors acrylic paints, gels, and mediums. All class materials are provided, including paints, gels, mediums, mixed media materials (fabric, paper, found objects), aprons, brushes, tools, and canvas panels.
Paint like Wassily Kandinsky, famed Russian painter most active in the early 20th century who pioneered abstract art and developed revolutionary aesthetic theories. Blackburn shares her fascinating “lizard brain” technique for creating wildly inventive abstract patterns and compositions. Participants can also embellish their work with collage, fabrics, and bling for added visual intensity.
