FORT MASON FLIX — 2021 SFFILM Festival — Sneak Peek: Language Lessons

Presented By

SFFILM Festival & Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture

Apr 11th @ 9:30 p.m.

SFFILM Presents:

Language Lessons

About: Spanish lessons lead to emotional revelations in this richly touching, character-driven first feature. Well-off Oakland resident Adam (Mark Duplass) is at first put out by his husband’s gift of online sessions with cheerful Costa Rican Cariño (Natalie Morales), but a shocking event right before their second tutorial leads to a deeper connection and mutual empathy. As the pair stumbles over their words in English and Spanish, groping for connection via the square boxes of their virtual conversations, awkward misunderstandings share space with poignant disclosures.
