About: Based on Kevin Kwan’s 2013 novel, Crazy Rich Asians places an American love story against the traditions of family, class, and home. NYU economics professor and first-generation New Yorker Rachel Chu (Wu) travels with her boyfriend Nick Young (Golding) to Singapore for his best friend’s wedding. Their first-class flight cabin hints at Rachel’s discovery upon arrival: that Nick has downplayed both his wealth and his network of relatives, friends, and paramours trying to find him the right match. With the peerless Michelle Yeoh as Nick’s disapproving mother, love might not save the day!
