About: Veteran filmmaker George Miller returns to the world he created in Mad Max (1979) to refine his post-apocalyptic vision for this Academy-Award nominated fourth installment of the series. Taking place almost entirely in motion, the high-octane action begins from the very start when Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) deviates from her oil convoy en route from Immortan Joe’s (Hugh Keays-Byrne ) citadel to a refinery. She has kidnapped Joe’s “breeders,” the women he keeps prisoner in hopes to create a male heir, to get them to safety in the “green place.” Survival has surpassed oil as the leading commodity, and for Furiosa, the only thing fueling her race across the scorched earth is hope in the next generation.
