Generation Theatre: Olivia’s Kitchen
Generation TheatreThrough Mar 17th
Join Generation Theatre for a lively adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic, 12th Night, Or What You Will, in its new World War II-era version, Olivia’s Kitchen, Or What The Cook Saw Of 12th Night, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Generation Theatre’s multi-talented R. David Valayre adapted Olivia’s Kitchen, co-directs the play with Ket Watters, and stars as power- and status-hungry Malvolio.
Olivia’s Kitchen is set in London during the World War II blitz that caused major destruction. The titular kitchen has been half-blasted by the bombing, yet still serves as a gathering spot for a diverse array of quirky characters in search of love. Generation Theatre’s intrepid cast brings the madcap tale to life in this delightful new production including mistaken identities, gender-bending disguises, and plenty of misplaced affections.
