The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) Artists Gallery presents an exhibit of work by local photographer George Gund and painter Silvia Poloto.

Gund’s series, “The Persistent Nature of Nature,” features large-scale images taken in Sao Paolo, Brazil; the photographs include intriguing plants, flowers, massive tree-root systems, and other tropical flora impinging on man-made buildings and structures in the urban ecosphere.

Poloto’s exhibit, “Emptiness is Full,” explores abstract works on paper that question notions of pictorial space, visual boundaries, and how intuition can influence the depiction of formal elements in a creative process.
