Shanghai-based Gu Gu Drum Group performs an eclectic, theatrical drum drama. The drummers use traditional Chinese drums, ancient percussive vocabularies, and modern percussion techniques to deliver historically and culturally significant compositions. The show features drum vignettes based on timeless Chinese proverbs, fables, and fairy tales that confer profound insight into unity, human evolution, awareness, wisdom, social commitment, and communication.

This performance by Gu Gu Drum Group is hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 25 – June 4 exclusively at FMCAC.
