Happy Accidents Exhibit

Presented By

San Francisco Art Institute | Fort Mason Campus

Through Sep 29th

The San Francisco Art Institute | Fort Mason Campus presents a site-specific photographic installation by Elena Padrón Martín, “Happy Accidents,” in the Swell Gallery windows at the west entrance to the Art Institute campus, Pier 2, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. “Happy Accidents” documents the paint-covered floors of the Art Institute’s painting studios at the Chestnut Street campus in San Francisco.

The beautiful images of paint splatters in a rainbow of colors achieve breathtaking status when back-lit by the sun shining through the Fort Mason Campus windows. “Happy Accidents” blends studio and gallery aesthetics, and the creative process in a celebration of the swirls, droplets, and artistic mistakes — the “happy accidents” that occur in every artist’s studio, often on a daily basis.

The opening reception takes place Friday, September 22, 2017, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
