Museo Italo Americano offers film screening, lecture, and discussion panel programs in conjunction with its Italian American Cinema exhibit. The first event is a screening of the popular movie, Big Night, directed by Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott on Thursday, January 14, at 6:30 p.m. The following week Laura Ruberto discusses the life and work of acclaimed director Martin Scorsese in an illustrated lecture, “‘They Were More Than Movies to Me“: Italian Films, New York City Television, and the Work of Martin Scorsese” on Sunday, January 24, at 4:30 p.m.

Following in the series is a Thursday, February 4, 6:30 p.m. screening of John Turturro’s documentary, Passione, which examines the rich musical heritage of the Naples region of Italy. And the series is rounded-out with a panel discussion on Sunday, February 21, 4:30 p.m., which brings together Italian film and culture scholars for a lively talk: “Hit Refresh: Italian American Imagery in Mass Media.”
