North looks at the technological underpinnings of modern civilization from the perspective of a time traveler dropped into a historical period when they might need to share knowledge or develop crucial technology with only the materials and techniques available during an earlier time.

Ryan North is the author of How To Invent Everything: A Survival Guide For The Stranded Time Traveler and a variety of other clever books, comic books, online content, graphic novels, interactive fiction, and computer games. With degrees in Computer Science (minoring in Film) and Science, as well as expertise in Computational Linguistics, North is great at explaining technology, tools, and problem-solving.
