Museo Italo Americano presents author Donna DiGiuseppe, who discusses her new book, Lady In Ermine: The Story Of A Woman Who Painted The Renaissance, at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. DiGiuseppe researches and writes about Sofonisba Anguissola (c. 1535-1625), a painter from Italy’s Lombard region who painted the Medici court, traveled throughout the Mediterranean, was mentored by Michelangelo, and praised by Vasari. Anguissola also mentored painters Rubens and van Dyck and is a powerful influence for generations of artists.
