San Francisco Pride 2020 Virtual Celebration: 50 Years

San Francisco Pride celebrates 50 years of LGBTQ solidarity in a new virtual format for 2020. Tune in, turn on, and get involved with a phenomenal number of virtual pride activities on the final weekend in June 2020 and in the weeks leading up to the grand celebration.

Pride month kicks off on June 1, 2020, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the virtual “LGBT Q&A With Pride” when San Diego Pride Executive Director (ED) Fernando Z. López, Los Angeles Pride ED Madonna Cacciatore, and SF Pride’s ED Fred López discuss the Pride movement and how they intend to honor it in 2020.

The kick off continues with “Pride At Home SF” on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. San Francisco (SF) Mayor London Breed, the SF Bay Area Queer Nightlife Fund, and noted community activists commemorate the Pride festivities. The video is also available at Twitch.TV.

The Commonwealth Club Of California has created a free series of “Lavendar Talks” in honor of 50 years of SF Pride. The first installment, “50 Years of San Francisco Pride,” streams Tuesday, May 14, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. This video of this talk is also available to view here. “The State Of SF’s LGBTQ Cultural Districts” follows on Thursday, May 28, 2020, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Listen to this talk in a podcast or view the video.
