Sanctuary Print Shop
Through Jan 14th
FOR-SITE Foundation features a mobile print shop / cart at its “Sanctuary” exhibit in the Chapel, Upper Fort Mason, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Visitors are welcome to visit the print shop parked outside the Chapel to silkscreen their own prints reflecting the themes expressed at the “Sanctuary” exhibit.
Created by artists and art professors Sergio De La Torre and Chris Treggiari, the “Sanctuary Print Shop” is a tricycle silkscreen cart that brings the political power of printmaking and art to communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The mobile print shop serves as a resource center about San Francisco’s 28-year-old Sanctuary City ordinance. It also delivers activities for public engagement about immigrant rights and policies.
