At Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, Museo Italo Americano presents Spring 2017 lectures and events that explore Italian culture through history, film, music, technology, travel, and carnevale.

The Museo screens the award-winning, six-hour film, “The Best of Youth (La meglio gioventu),” on three Sundays, February 5, 12, and 19, 4:30-7:00 p.m. ($10/night, RSVP). On Saturday, February 18, 4:30 p.m., physicist and inventor Federico Faggin leads a Leonardo da Vinci Society illustrated lecture “Conscious Robots? Fact or Fiction?” ($5, RSVP recommended). The all-day Festa di Carnevale celebrates carnival with food, wine, fun, prizes, and music with DJ Peter Haley on Saturday, February 25 ($75-$100).

Blue Bear School of Music staff person Dennis Criteser and his Bella Strada trio perform the music of contemporary Italian singer-songwriters (cantautori) at a concert on Sunday, March 12, 4:30 p.m. ($10, RSVP). Bianca Friundi provides a virtual tour of “Trentino Alto Adige: Two Regions in One” on Sunday, March 26, 4:30 p.m. ($10, RSVP). The tour concludes with a tasting of regional wines.
