Join local historian and author Chris Carlsson of Shaping San Francisco for his acclaimed walking tour, “The Hidden Histories of Fort Mason, Black Point, and North Shore” at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Begin in the shadow of the Fontana Towers at Van Ness Avenue and Bay Street and stroll the grounds of an old military base.

Discover hidden wonders such as the histories of nearby farms, solders who once served at Fort Mason, lost lagoons and water flumes, and a remarkable World’s Fair. After exploring Upper Fort Mason and the grounds of Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, finish the tour at the historic Fort Mason gates.

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) hosts this walking tour by Chris Carlsson as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 24, 2018 to June 3, 2018 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 60 performances by close to 40 different artists, ensembles, and companies.
