Amy Lewis / Agnes Szelag

Presented By

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture & SFIAF

Through May 25th

Choreographer Amy Lewis and sound artist Agnes Szelag perform Anima Magneta, a multimedia surrogate reality piece in the Firehouse at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Anima Magneta is an environment where disparate ideas and dimensions suddenly coexist because the artists interweave dance, video, and sound. Time may shift and other worlds may appear as Anima Magneta experiments with theories about how sensory-based awareness transforms through technological immersion, animism beliefs, and symbol-induced alienation from nature.

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) hosts these performances by Amy Lewis and Agnes Szelag as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 23, 2019 to June 2, 2019 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 40 performances by nearly 50 artists, ensembles, and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
