Soundwave ((7)): Aural Spacial Infinite Exhibition

Presented By

MEDIATE and 48 Hills

Through Jul 10th

The entire event kicks-off with a free, opening night party for Aural Spacial Infinite Exhibition on July 1, 6-10 p.m.; complete with drinks and music from Sung Kim, Shanna Sordhal, and Dan Gottwald.

Soundwave ((7)) comes to Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture to present “Aural Spacial Infinite Exhibition,” a free art exhibition that features “spatial sound-sculpting techniques” that use the elements of the space — in this case, various areas of the FMCAC campus — in conjunction with sculptures, experimental instruments, and audio placement.

Featuring the works of Mary Franck (untitled), Matt Ganucheau (Chant), and Sung Kim (Satellite Sympathetic Resonators) in the Chapel, attendees will be guided through the space by visual and acoustic cues. While in the Firehouse, Taurin Barrera and Bill Baird will present It’s Not A Bubble, an audio-visual installation about the current economy, and Future Cities Labs will present Swarm Vox. And Hugh Livingston will share PLACE/UNPLACE: AN IMAGINARY ARCHITECTURE, a piece that utilizes an app to deliver a guided soundwalk through outdoor portions of the FMCAC campus.
