Teatro Carniglia: Film & Panel Discussion

Presented By

Museo Italo Americano

Jul 13th @ 7:00 p.m.

The Museo Italo Americano presents a film screening and panel discussion about the life and work of the late painter Jerry Carniglia at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. This event is held in conjunction with the Museo’s exhibit, “Jerry Carniglia: A Tribute,” on view through August 13, 2017.

The event features a screening of the short, 28-minute documentary film, “Painting Rules,” made by Emmy-winning filmmakers Marylou and Jerome Bongiorno in 2008. “Painting Rules” was filmed when Carniglia and the Bongiornos were residents at the MacDowell Artist Colony, where the filmmakers captured Carniglia’s creative methods and sources of inspiration.

A panel discussion follows the film, featuring Oakland, CA artist and curator Anthony Pinata, Carniglia trustee Margaret Fisher of the MA fíSH CO performance project, and other distinguished panelists.

Space for this event is limited. Please RSVP in advance to (415) 673-2200 or info@SFMuseo.org.
