The Mexican Museum
The Mexican Museum offers two exhibits for Spring 2016. “The Art of New Spain: Highlights From The Mexican Museum Colonial Collection” presents paintings, sculptures, and other objects from the museum’s Colonial-era holdings.
Enjoy a retrospective exhibit of work by Peter Rodriguez, the man who founded The Mexican Museum in 1975. Now 89, Rodriguez continues to paint, create art, and promote his culture at San Francisco’s Laguna Honda Hospital. In the 40 years since its inception, his museum’s collections have expanded to include art from other Latino countries and cultures of Central and South America.
