Sexy tenor Michael Fabiano stars as Gennaro, a lusty young warrior with a hidden past. International superstar Renée Fleming vividly portrays the powerful and passionate (and possibly misrepresented by history) Lucrezia Borgia.
Gennaro, his sworn fellow soldier Maffio Orsini, a masked Lucrezia, and members of the great families of Italy converge on a celebration hosted by Duke Grimani. Lucrezia and Gennaro meet and feel an instant attraction, but angry guests discover her identity and accuse her of being a poisoner and assassin. Poisonings, duels, vandalism, disguises, deception, and another tragic palace party lead to death and sorrow in fine Machiavellian style.
