About: Join us for a one-time-only special event with live music by Grammy-winning blues-rocker Fantastic Negrito, who will perform an original score to Rick Prelinger and alex cruse’s collage film Lost Landscapes of Oakland. Rick Prelinger’s Lost Landscapes projects are evolving compendiums of footage from amateurs, industrials, and newsreels that present city-specific histories. Forged with ephemera of events and people rarely seen, forgotten, or pushed aside by more “official” versions of history, This latest version, updated by co-creator alex cruse, brings us rare and often surprising images of the East Bay. No musical artist is better suited to further enliven this tour of rediscovered local wonders with a unique score, performed live, than roots-music revolutionary and Oakland native, Fantastic Negrito.
