Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits
Feb 20th @ 10:00 a.m.The Native American two-spirits LGBTQ community convenes for their fifth annual powwow at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Two-spirit individuals represent a diverse group of Native Americans, including masculine-oriented women, feminine-oriented men, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer-identified, and other people whose gender types mix male and female characteristics.
The Two-Spirits Powwow is open to all and features performers in traditional Native American regalia, dancing, singing, drumming, and joyful celebration. On-site vendors also offer frybread, buffalo burgers, Native art and jewelry, and other items. Free health screenings are also available from the Native American Health Center.
