May 30th @ 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.On Thursday, May 30, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., join Fort Mason Art, the American Indian Cultural District, FOR-SITE, Goody Café, Haines Gallery, Museo Italo Americano, SF Camerawork, and the San Francisco Children’s Art Center for pop-up artist and curator talks and a painting session at the free Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture (FMCAC) Art Walk.

The Art Walk opens at 5:00 p.m. and features pop-up artist and curator talks across campus; a new exhibition, an opening reception, a live performance, and an art workshop in Landmark Building C; an outdoor painting commission in the public art corridor between Landmark Buildings B and C; and a public art commission at Building B, the Gateway Pavilion at Pier 2, and the Festival Pavilion at Pier 3. Check in between Buildings B and C to obtain drink tickets. Register at EventBrite.

- Check in starts at 5:00 p.m., between Buildings B and C. Register in advance for a free drink ticket.
- Fort Mason Art presents Oscar Lopez: Your Food, My Work, Our Land in the public art corridor between Buildings B and C with an opening reception, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Toast the artist at 5:00 p.m. Artist and curator talks happen at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Haight Street Art Center offers a pop-up, live screen-printing demonstration and poster giveaway, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Fort Mason Art presents Shiny Things For My Quartermaster: Seven Swallowtail Flags, a public art commission by Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker Cauleen Smith. The suite of artist flags, installed above the main entrances to Building B, the Gateway Pavilion at Pier 2, and the Festival Pavilion at Pier 3 are on view through Fall 2024. More information about the commission is on display in the Building B Lobby.
- Haines Gallery presents Patsy Krebs: Equations, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a gallery tour at 6:30 p.m. (Building C, first floor)
- SF Camerawork presents EBTI: Ma-kan مكان, on view from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Artist and curator talks happen at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Building A, next to Radhaus Alpine Beerhall & Restaurant
- San Francisco Children’s Art Center hosts a studio painting session for all ages, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Building C, first floor).
- FOR-SITE’s The Guardhouse Program presents Yunfei Ren At The Guardhouse: “Prevailing Winds,” 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with an introduction by Executive Director and Chief Curator Cheryl Haines. Guest Curator and Project Manager for The Guardhouse Program, Lisa Ellsworth, moderates the panel discussion with Hidetaka Hirota, a legal and social historian and Associate Professor Of History at the University Of California – Berkeley, 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (Discussion held in Gallery 308, Building A). The Guardhouse installation, “Prevailing Winds,” is on view daily through Sunday, June 9, 2024, visible at all times through the windows. (The Guardhouse is across from Equator Coffees Café.)
- Museo Italo Americano presents “Earth & Soul: Paintings By Elena Civoli Brittain & Sculptures By Tricia Grame,” 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Museo also hosts an artist and curator talk, 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a performance by The Mina Project, 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Building C, first floor)
- Goody Café features the group show, Looking At Animals, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For food options at the cafe, see the dining descriptions below. (Building C, first floor)
- The American Indian Cultural District (AICD) presents murals by Jewelina Acosta and Brittany Burrows, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with artist talks at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (Landmark Building D Lobby, first foor)
During the Spring 2024 Art Walk, FMCAC resident establishments Radhaus, Greens Restaurant, and The Interval at Long Now offer dining and drinking options in Landmark Building A. Goody Café in Landmark Building C offers free popcorn (organic, popped fresh) and Crust Luv artisan pizza for sale, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hot and cold drinks are also available for purchase.
Other campus art installations on view are: a collection of historic posters commemorating decades of Indigenous arts and cultural events held at FMCAC, presented by FMCAC resident AICD, on view in the lobby of Landmark Building D.
