When Fire Visits Us
San Francisco International Arts Festival
Through May 22ndAdrian Arias presents a visual poem, procession, and performance art as tribute to the creative and destructive power of fire. Dancers, performers, composers, and musicians join Arias in a salute to the temperamental element that lives within us and can devour us or transform us. The production and procession feature choral singing, flamenco, acrobatics, and original arrangements and compositions for instruments such as the cello, harp, and cajón (Peruvian box-shaped percussion instrument). Please note this performance will require the audience to walk, as it starts in Gallery 308 and ends in the Chapel.
These performances by Adrian Arias are hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 19 – June 5 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 100 performances by 50 different ensembles, as well as an expansive arts exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Dada Movement.
