Join Sonoma, CA artist Andrea Wedell for a demonstration of R&F Pigment Sticks at FLAX Art + Design Store in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Learn about monoprinting, image transfer, mark making, building a surface, and additional techniques using cold wax and gel printing plates.

Topics covered include: how R&F Pigment Sticks allow artists to explore traditional and alternative methods of painting with oil by drawing or painting directly onto a surface with immediacy and fluidity; what Pigment Sticks are (pigment and linseed oil); health and safety when working with Pigment Sticks (including proper disposal of oil soaked rags and paper towels); appropriate supports and tools; and transparent vs. opaque Pigment Sticks.
