Elevate Ensemble presents “After Dark,” a musical exploration of the night at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. “After Dark” reflects how rules bend, wandering begins, and imaginations open up with the fading of daylight. The “After Dark” compositions examine how the hours after sunset can inspire tranquility and possibility, but can also lead to loneliness and fear.
“After Dark” includes a premiere from Elevate Ensemble’s composer-in-residence, Nick Vasallo; Jocelyn Hagen‘s “POEM: Second Movement;” three short pieces by George Hurd; “Moments Shared, Moments Lost” by Jennifer Bellor; and Julie Herndon‘s “Edges.”
