BATS Improv Student Shows 2017

Presented By

BATS Improv

Through Dec 17th

BATS School of Improv presents affordable Sunday “Student Showcases” and “Cave Matches” at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Catch some fresh, raw, rough-edged improv with the wild crew at BATS Improv — and take advantage of a sweet bargain! For a mere $10 (at the door only), enjoy the fun, improvised show starring the next generation of comedy geniuses from the BATS School of Improv.

The “Student Showcases” feature an ensemble of improv students who have trained together in workshops devoted to specific improv genres. The “Cave Matches” star mash-ups of improv students, BATS Improv company members, and student coaches who do whatever they like for 38 minutes. Following the shows, audiences vote on their favorites, and the most popular team returns for the next “Cave Match” to battle another adversary.

On Sunday, November 12, 2017, the 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. student showcases explore “Improvised Family Drama,” in three-act improvised plays about the trials and travails of holiday get-togethers. The “Cave Matches” return on Sunday, November 19, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. when the Act One team competes with the I’m Ready For A Close-Up group. The matches on December 3, 10, and 17, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. feature the winners of previous Sunday battles matching wits with the Thought Police, Somewhat Sequitur, and The Charlies teams.
