Rock out at home and in-person with Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) resident group Blue Bear School Of Music’s Summer 2022 in-person and online classes, camps, and online private lessons. Learn how to play a new instrument or improve existing musical skills with Blue Bear’s diverse program of in-person band workshops and acoustic jam classes; as well as virtual classes, virtual private lessons; and Little Bears in-person toddler music classes.

The Summer Camps run Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in different sessions for grades four through 12 from June 20, 2022 through August 5, 2022 (no camps July 4, 2022 through July 8, 2022). Camps cost $495 to $575 each. For students in grades one through five, Blue Bear teams with FMCAC residents San Francisco Children’s Art Center and Young Performers Theatre for MAD (Music, Art, Drama) Camp, June 20, 2022 to June 24, 2022 (SOLD OUT).

Children in grades four through seven can attend Get Ready To Rock Camp from July 11, 2022 through July 15, 2022 ($550). Those in grades six through eight are eligible for Rock U 1 Camp held June 27, 2022 though July 1, 2022 ($550).

Grades seven through 11 have three options: Rock U 2 Camp, July 18, 2022 through July 22, 2022  ($550); DJ Camp, July 25, 2022 through July 29, 2022; and Guitar Camp, August 1, 2022 through August 5, 2022 ($495).

Students in grades eight through 12 are eligible for Rock U 3 Camp, June 20, 2022 to June 24, 2022 ($550) and Songwriting Camp, July 25, 2022 to July 29, 2022 ($575). Grades nine through 12 can also opt for Creating & Recording Music Studio Camp held July 11, 2022 through July 15, 2022 ($495).

After the summer camps conclude and when autumn returns, Blue Bear offers virtual and in-person sessions featuring electric, acoustic, lead, and blues/jazz guitar with classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced students. Other classes cover vocals, ukulele, DJing and electronic music, and more. Tuition costs $330 to $490 for most 11-week classes and $425 for most 10-week plus performance Band Workshops.

Little Bears In-The-Park classes for ages four months to five years old are available on an ongoing basis. The 45-minute classes take place on Monday and Wednesday mornings in Upper Fort Mason’s Great Meadow and cost $35 for one sessions, $150 for five sessions, or $250 for 10 sessions.
