Rock out at home and in-person with Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) resident group Blue Bear School Of Music’s Summer 2024 in-person and online classes, camps, and online private lessons. Learn how to play a new instrument or improve existing musical skills with Blue Bear’s diverse program of in-person band workshops and acoustic jam classes; as well as virtual classes, virtual private lessons; and Little Bears in-person toddler music classes.

The Summer Camps run Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in different sessions for grades four through 12 from June 17, 2024 through August 9, 2024 (no camps July 1, 2024 through July 5, 2024). Camps cost $575 to $625. each.

For students in grades one through three, Blue Bear teams with FMCAC residents San Francisco Children’s Art Center and Young Performers Theatre for the “MAD (Music, Art, Drama) Camp,” June 24, 2024 to June 28, 2024, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ($625)

Children in grades four through seven can attend “Get Ready To Rock Camp” from June 24, 2024 through June 28, 2024 and July 15, 2024 to July 19, 2024 ($575). Those in grades six through eight are eligible for “Rock U 1 Camp” held July 8, 2024 though July 12, 2024 and August 5, 2024 to August 9, 2024 ($575).

Grades seven through 10 have great options: “Rock U 2 Camp,” June 17, 2024 through June 21, 2024 and July 29, 2024 to August 2, 2024 ($575); and “DJ Camp,” August 5, 2024 through August 9, 2024 (also grade 11, $575).

Students in grades eight through 12 are eligible for “Rock U 3 Camp,” July 22, 2024 to July 26, 2024 ($575) and for some of the other camps mentioned above for grades seven to 10 and seven to 11.

For adults, Blue Bear offers virtual and in-person sessions featuring electric, acoustic, lead, and blues/jazz guitar with classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced students. Other classes cover vocals, DJing, songwriting, jam bands, and more. Tuition costs $300 to $625 for most eight-week to 11-week sessions.

Little Bears In-The-Park classes for ages four months to five years old are available on an ongoing basis. The 45-minute classes take place on Monday mornings indoors at Blue Bear and Wednesday mornings outdoors on Little Marina Green near FMCAC.
