In San Francisco (SF), testing is currently open for any person living in SF who has one symptom; has been in close contact with a positive COVID-19 person; or is an essential or frontline worker regardless of symptoms or exposure. You do not need medical insurance to get tested. You do not need a doctor’s note to schedule a test. The results are available in one to five days.
A frontline or essential worker is anyone who leaves their home for work and interacts in person with members of the public; cannot maintain physical distancing at their jobs; or works directly with vulnerable populations (such as those who are experiencing homelessness, have serious medical conditions, or who are older than age 60).
