Feathers Of Fire

Presented By

Fictionville Studio and Banu Productions with ShadowLight Productions

Through Jan 18th

Experience a new type of shadow puppet theater with ShadowLight Productions’ Feathers of Fire. This action-packed, cinematic shadow play tells a magical story of star-crossed lovers, based on Shahnameh, a classic Persian epic legend from the 10th century. Feathers of Fire is an all-ages adventure directed by Hamid Rahmanian, an Iranian-American graphic designer and filmmaker who recently created a new edition of Shahnameh in collaboration with San Francisco’s own Larry Reed and his ShadowLight Productions, 40-plus year old award-winning shadow theater company.

Feathers of Fire will feature over 140 colorful shadow puppets, performers in elaborate masks and costumes, and spectacular digitally-animated backgrounds designed by Rahmanian. These intricate elements are seamlessly choreographed together and projected onto a cinemascope-size screen to give audience a feeling of “live animation.”

Due to demand, an extra show has been added for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
