Through Oct 22ndEmbark Gallery inaugurates a new exhibit exploring humor at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. The emerging artists participating in “Humor Us” explore how humor in art can be used to create dialogues about troubling issues such as religious or racial discrimination, a divisive election season, out-of-control housing costs, and an unstable economy.
Tanya Gayer of the California College of the Arts (CCA) is the exhibit curator, which features the work of Douglas Angulo (San Francisco Art Institute, SFAI), Nathan Becka (CCA), Boris Scherbakov (Mills College), Kaitlin Trataris (SFAI), France Viana (Mills), Hui Meng Wang (SFAI), and Jin Zhu (University of California–Berkeley).
