Jun 25th @ 12:00 p.m.The Mexican Museum celebrates the 50th anniversary of San Francisco’s Summer of Love with a free Family Sunday workshop on crafting Ojo de Dios ornaments with sticks, yarn, twigs, and string, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Ojo de Dios weavings originated with the native Americans of the US Southwest and resonated with the counterculture prevalent in 1960s San Francisco.
Symbolizing perception and comprehension of the unexplored, the colorful Ojo de Dios objects are fun to make and can be used for holiday or home decorations, ceremonies, and fun activities for all. Stop by The Mexican Museum to learn more about indigenous traditions and craft ways and take home your own sacred artifact!
