Museo Italo Americano

Museo Italo Americano presents “NeoRealismo: The New Image in Italy, 1932–1960,” a traveling exhibit organized by ADMIRA Photography and curated by Enrica Viganò, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. “NeoRealismo” explores Italian photography as it documented Italy’s economic and social conditions in the mid-2oth century.

The exhibit features more than 100 vintage photographs by more than 50 Italian photographers and also explores the context of these works by presenting the original publications they appeared in; including magazines, books, and exhibition catalogs. “NeoRealismo” also presents film excerpts by notable directors such as Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rosselini, and Luchino Visconti.
